Imran, Nawaz Sharif responsible if army takes over: Khurshid Shah
Why the cadets did not have weapons to counter? Asks Shah
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Khurshid Shah, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly (NA) has said on Tuesday that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would be responsible if army took over.
While talking to the media, Shah confirmed that the government was approaching him for talks over PTI’s alleged lockdown call of Islamabad on November 2.
The opposition leader held the government responsible for the current situation of political upheaval. He lambasted Imran Khan by saying that he should not drag military in the issue and that 10,000 people would be enough to lockdown the federal capital.
Shah further condoled the loss of lives in the latest of terror attacks in the country. Three terrorists had held around 200 cadets hostage in police training facility last night in Quetta after which at least 60 were martyred while over 100 sustained injuries.
Shah criticised provincial governments and rhetorically asked why the chief ministers (CM) had not taken necessary steps for security under National Action Plan (NAP).
He called for inquiry into the issue highlighting that the cadets did not have weapons to counter.
