NA's Standing Committee on Defence Production visits GHQ
The members was welcomed by the Chief of Army Staff on their arrival at GHQ
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Standing Committee of National Assembly on Defence Production has paid a visit to General Headquarters of Pakistan Army on Thursday amid escalated tensions with India.
Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif welcomed the lawmakers as they arrived in the General Headquarters in patronage of Chairman of the National Assembly committee, Khawaja Sohail Mansoor.
The committee was briefed by the Director General Military Operations on the situation developed at the Line of Control and Working Boundary after his Indian counterpart maliciously claimed to have entered Pakistani territory last night at around 02:30 in the wee hours to target terror hideouts.
Besides the formal briefing, the Chief of Army Staff convened a detailed meeting with the committee members over national security.
Chairman Mansoor let the army officials know that the entire nation stood by its military in whatever situation may develop, be it war with India which Pakistan never desired or friendly terms which it has invariably supported.
