Main culprit in scam of National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) and companys former chairman Ayaz Khan Niazi has surrendered to police on Tuesday. He is remanded to FIA till November 30. Niazi was wanted to FIA over his alleged involvement in corruption of land sale and purchase wherein loss of millions was caused to national exchequer. The Supreme Court had directed the FIA Director General to arrest the main culprits in the NICL scam, including NICL Chairman Ayaz Khan Niazi and Mohsin Warraich without any further delay. FIA Karachi and FIA Lahore will interrogate Ayaz Niazi. FIA raided different parts of Karachi during last two days to arrest Ayaz Niazi. Nine of the 12 accused in the NICL scam have already been arrested while three are at large.
