PPP's criticism over Rangers special powers is above comprehension: Interior Ministry

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Ministry has denied reports about rejection of summary forwarded by Sindh government on Rangers stay and policing powers issue, reported Wednesday.

Spokesperson for the ministry said that legal experts have pointed out contradictions in the summary however, the Interior Minister would take a decision in the issue today.

The spokesperson said that criticism by Pakistan People’s Party regarding Rangers special powers was above comprehension.

Rangers stayed in Sindh for two weeks despite expiration of powers but neither the party leadership nor the provincial government criticized the act however, now when the issue is about to be resolved, hurdles are being created.

Experts are reviewing the summary sent by the provincial government and no statement in this regard has been issued yet.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will clear federation’s stance today, spokesperson said.

On the other hand, Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has criticised Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan demanding him to stop ‘revenge action’ against provincial governments and handle the ministry to best of his abilities.
