Govt, Opposition finalise ECP members' names
Wanted honest people working in ECP, without any party affiliation: Khurshid Shah
ISLAMBAD (Dunya News) – Government and Opposition on Thursday finalised Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members’ twelve names proposed by each party while Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah will submit their proposed list to National Assembly (NA) Speaker by Friday, reported Dunya News.
The final decision will be made on Monday in parliamentary committee session. Government and Opposition announced to submit 24 names to Speaker by Friday.
Khurshid Shah said that he wanted honest people working in ECP, without any party affiliation. Committee Chairman Minister for Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid told Dunya TV that he hoped all four names would be approved in the session. The names will be spent to Supreme Court (SC) for final decision otherwise, he added.
