MQM leaders to visit court against party leaders' detention
Party workers were also threatened to leave the party as soon as possible: MQM leaders
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee on Tuesday stated that decision of Wasim Akhtar and Rauf Siddique’s arrest was made under pressure and these arrests were a part of an operation against MQM, reported Dunya News.
Speaking at a press conference in Khurshid Begum Secretariat, Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that Wasim and Rauf were arrested under pressure and the party will approach High Court (HC) for their bail. MQM leader Amir Khan said that Zulfiqar Mirza earlier admitted that he had issued weaponry licenses to gang war members but no action was taken against him.
MQM leaders in a joint statement said that many MQM workers were arrested and many were killed extra-judicially during Karachi Operation. The workers were also threatened to leave the party as soon as possible, the leaders said.
