Many areas of Sindh experienced heavy rainfall in later part of Tuesday afternoon

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Spells of rain in various areas of Sindh on Tuesday broke the heat-wave but also resulted in electricity breakdown in different parts of the provincial capital, reported Dunya News.

Tando Allahyaar and its adjoining areas along with Hyderabad and Tando Ghulam Ali experienced heavy rain in the later part of the afternoon which made a pleasant change in the weather of these areas. Other parts of Sindh also experienced heavy rainfall.

Rain in different areas of Karachi broke the heat-wave but also resulted in the tripping of multiple electricity feeders. Locals faced a number of problems as a result of the power breakage.

Showers in various areas of Tharparkar, including Mitthi, Chachro and adjoining areas, also brought a pleasant change in the weather.

Heat-wave in Nawabshah and Umarkot decreased as a result of heavy downpour whereas the weather in Badin’s area of Pingrio also became pleasant after rain.

Meterological department predicted that the current spell of rain shall last for another couple of days. Furthermore, predictions of even greater rainfall during the first week of July and during the Eid holidays were made by the met department. An 80% chance of rain during next 24 hours in areas of Sindh was predicted by the weather forecasters.

Worshippers observing Itekaf were among the ones worst affected from the power breakage in Karachi. Locals protested at Teen Hatti against power failure by burning tires and blocking the road.

Rescue sources stated that one young girl in Karachi’s Orangi Town died after a wall fell on her.
