The government had been wasting time since the issue had surfaced: Shah Mehmood

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Deadlock in between parliamentary committee over Terms of References (TORs) with respect to Panama Leaks has remained intact on Wednesday while Opposition parties have started drafting new strategy in this regard, reported Dunya News.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi spoke to different leaders of Jamaat Islami (JI), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

It was believed that PTI might consider an option of detachment from parliamentary committee after Eid ul Fitr as it had already started convincing other parties to disengage themselves from the committee.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) earlier had also considered the very option of hitting streets after Eid ul Fitr as Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto would chair a meeting in this matter.

After taking a briefing from Aitzaz Ahsan and Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah, he would make further decisions, whether PPP would be a part of parliamentary committee or separate itself likewise.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that government was not serious about the committee and that they had been wasting time since the issue had surfaced. He also said that PTI wanted to unite opposition parties over the issue as they had been drafting new strategy which would be presented before the government as a last option.
