May have political differences with Asif Ali Zardari but admit that he's a witty person: Saad

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Monday stated that Opposition intends target killing of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), adding that the alliance of Opposition parties for negative purposes will be of no use, reported Dunya News.

While conversing with the media after the meeting of the Terms of References (TORs) committee concluded, Saad Rafique said that the government side does not want to delay the investigation of the Panama Leaks issue as it shall turn against the government.

He stated that certain individuals intend to be the plaintiff and the judge themselves at the same time, further stating that the name of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif cannot be included in the TORs by force.

“Opposition should not force us to an extent that we bow down before them as one bows only before God, not before man,” Saad said.

He stated that although he has political differences with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari but he admitted that Zardari was a witty person, adding that he hopeed that PPP would not take any step that would endanger democracy.

He also said that PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan will not be influenced by ideas of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan or Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed. He stated that Jamaat Islami (JI) should play its role in reducing differences between the political parties, adding that Opposition should not mislead the nation over the TORs.

Minister for Law Zahid Hamid said that the Opposition intends to trap the PM over the Panama Leaks issue, further stating that special law cannot be introduced to cater every inquiry. He said that the government is ready to make changes in the law of 1956, adding that the Opposition is in the mode to conduct trial whereas the government intends to make a general law through which the commission shall be made.
