Power tripping increases as shortfall nears 4,600MW

Urban areas are undergoing 7-8 hours of power-cut whereas in rural areas the duration is 8-10 hours.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Complaints regarding power tripping are on the rise as loadshedding continue to irk people in various parts of the country.
According to National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC), electricity shortfall is 4,600MW as rising temperatures pushed demand beyond 19,500MW against the maximum generation of 14,900MW.
The government has issued a schedule of not to conduct loadshedding during Sehr and Iftar timings.
However, power tripping is being occurred due to the technical glitches produced by system overload and transformer malfunction.
