LDA guards get unruly with Dunya TV team; CM takes notice

In an unfortunate incident, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) security guards inflicted torture on the Dunya News team who sustained severe injuries on Friday. Reportedly, a Dunya News producer present at LDA building tried to stop the guards who were thrashing a woman who was an ex-employee of the Authority and came there with a Lahore High Court order for redressal of some of her grievance, the details of which remained unknown till the filing of this report. But the unruly guards thrashed Dunya News producer, a lady reporter and broke the cameras on covering the event. When Dunya TV aired the whole episode, the police machinery swung into action and rushed the spot with IGP Tariq Saleem Dogar assuring arrest and penalty of the accused at the earliest. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sahrif also took notice of the issue and ordered judicial probe of the incident. But after passing several hours, no case has been lodged and no arrests have been made. Action would be taken against LDA officials: Raja Riaz Senior Punjab Minister Raja Riaz while talking to Dunya News said that it was very unfortunate incident and he will ask the CM to take notice. He said that police action would be taken against the concerned LDA officials and guards.
