Head of Jang Group Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman owns an offshore company namely Marine Properties Limited

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Second version of the Panama Papers surfaced on Monday. 259 Pakistanis named in the Leaks are reported to own offshore companies according to the latest Leaks, reported Dunya News.

150 citizens of Karachi and over 100 belonging to Lahore have been reported to own offshore companies. These offshore companies are present in British Virgin Islands, Bahamas and Panama. Offshore companies of 153 Pakistanis are present in the British Virgin Islands. According to the latest leaks, Karachiities top the list by owning over 150 offshore companies. 56 of the owners of these companies belong to the Defence area of Karachi whereas 35 are from Clifton.

Over 100 individuals belonging to Lahore also own offshore companies, according to the leaks. Panama Leaks revealed that Saifullah family is the biggest shareholder and owner of offshore companies in Pakistan.

7 people of the family own more than 30 such companies. Javed Saifullah owns 17 companies. The leaks also revealed that oldest company was founded in 1988 by Mian Zia-ud-din while the latest has been founded in 2015 by Majid Siddique Daud.

27 companies were registered in 2007. The leaks further revealed that the head of Jang Group Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman also owns an offshore company named Marine Properties Limited.
