Multan: Polling begins in NA-153 by-election
Polling for by-polls in National Assembly constituency NA-153 has started.
MULTAN (Dunya News) – Polling for the by-election in NA-153 Jalalpur Pirwala district of Multan started on early Thursday. The seat fell vacant because of disqualification of PML-N MNA Dewan Ashiq Bokhari in fake degree case.
A total number of 13 candidates, including Rana Qasim Noon of PML-N, Ghulam Abbas Khakhi of PTI and Akram Kanhon of PPP, are contesting the election in this constituency.
The number of registered voters in NA-153 constituency is 379,962. A total number of 257 polling stations have been set up for today’s election out of which 75 have been declared sensitive.
Pakistan Army and police have been deployed to maintain law and order situation during the election. The polling will end at 5:00pm.
