NAB says Dr Asim's graft has resulted in loss of Rs 17 billion to the national treasury

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday approved bringing of a fresh reference against former petroleum minister Dr Asimn for graft of Rs 17 billion, Dunya News reported.

The enquiry against Azam Hoti has been closed while another friend of former president, Wajid Shamsul Hassan, has also been summoned on March 15.

According to details, the difficulties of Dr Asim are reportedly upped because the NAB has decided to file a fresh graft reference against the former minister after four complaints’ confirmation were approved in the meeting of the executive board.

The enquiry against late Hoti, however, has been dropped.

According to NAB, Dr Asim allegedly committed graft while conspiring with officers in granting contracts during his time as minister.

This, NAB says, has resulted in loss of Rs 17 billion to the national treasury.
