Retired US Central Command General meets Raheel Sharif
Lloyd Austin praised Pak Army's role in war against terrorism and establishing peace in region
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – United States Central Command leader General retd. Lloyd Austin on Sunday met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif in the General Headquarters (GHQ) on his farewell visit to Pakistan, reported Dunya News.
The retired US General praised Pakistan’s role in restoring peace in Afghanistan and for its efforts in the war against terrorism. He paid visit to the Yadgar-e-Shuhada in the GHQ and laid a wreath there. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General (R) Austin lauded Pakistan Army’s achievements in Operation Zarb-e-Azb and its part in establishing stability in the region.
General Raheel commended General (R) Austin’s role in the Afghan reconciliation process. The retired US General appreciated the Army Chief’s hospitality during his visit to Pakistan.
