The court resented CDA's alleged inability to put an end to local businesses in residential areas

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) has stated that if Capital Development Authority (CDA) cannot cease commercial activities in residential areas, other law enforcement agencies would be handed over the job, Dunya News reported Thursday.

The court resented CDA’s alleged inability to put an end to local businesses in residential areas of the federal capital.

Additional Attorney General maintained during hearing of case against usage of residences for commercial purposes that building of the IG Office has been 80 percent completed. The authority requires some time to shift the office there, he added.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed questioned whether the Attorney General was suggesting to abandon the law until construction of the building.

The court stated that Attorney General failed to put forth practical recommendations in the light of law. The hearing was adjourned until March 3.
