During hearing, the judge has also rejected Musharraf’ plea seeking exemption from appearing before court and reserved the verdict till February 13.

While talking to media outside court, the claimant’s lawyer advocate Tariq Asad stated that Musharraf has to appear in court for the suspension of arrest warrant. He said that he is still having reservations in the case despite dismissing former president’s petition.

He said that there is something behind not announcing the final verdict and extending the case.

Earlier, replying to interrogation of investigation team including SP Sajid Kayani and SHO Aabpara Police Station, Pervez Musharraf assured that he had never issued written or verbal orders for the Lal Masjid Operation.

Denying the charge of murdering Ghazi Abdul Rashid and his mother, the former president said the decision to conduct the operation was taken on governmental level.

The siege of Lal Masjid was a confrontation in July 10, 2007 between mosque’s clerics and the government, led by president Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister (PM) Shaukat Aziz. The operation claimed lives of more than 100 people including Abdul Aziz’s brother Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and his mother.

Musharraf faced a string of court cases over launching the operation.
