Lightning strike kills seven family members in Khushab
The rescue crew stated that the building was dilapidated due to which it caved in.
KHUSHAB (Dunya News) – At least seven people of the same family were killed while nine others injured when lightning struck a double-storey house at Khushab’s Purana Chowk today (Saturday).
According to details, the roof collapsed after lightning hit the house, entrapping the residents under the rubble. Sources told that as many as seven people including four women and two children died in the mishap whereas nine others sustained severe wounds and were shifted to hospital for medication.
The deceased have been identified as Umar Daraz, his wife Razia, eight-year-old Kinza, 15-year-old Farooq, 10-year-old Abdul Rauf, 13-year-old Sobia, seven-year-old Nauman and 17-year-old Sonia.
The rescue crew stated that the house was dilapidated due to which it caved in.
The country has a poor safety record in the construction and maintenance of buildings and houses due to continuous neglection from local governments.
