Around 200 students arrested by police from Punjab University under anti-terrorism act
LAHORE: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Punjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Mujahid Kamran has on Thursday blamed Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) for violence at the campus. Around 200 students had been arrested by police from PU under anti-terrorism act yesterday, reported Dunya News.

All of them were initiated by the IJT”, said the VC.
Mujahid Kamran said that the current issue started because some Baloch students were listening to music. The VC said that the student carrying a pistol in the video surfaced of the clash is named Suhail and his alias is Rumi. He told that the student was from Jamiat.
When asked how strangers could stay at PU hostels, Mujahid Kamran said that IJT especially arranged for bringing some students from Dir and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who take admission at other universities but stay at PU hostels. “They come here as guests and then stay here for like ever. Besides, they keep changing the hostels as well”, he added.
PU VC said that the university has come to know that several students are simultaneously studying at PU and other universities and they are the ones who are creating problems.
