Peshawar traffic police to inform locals about road closures via SMS
Fines worth more than Rs 3 crore have been added to the national treasure
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Traffic police have launched an SMS service to keep the locals informed over availability of different routes and road closures, Dunya News reported Tuesday.
‘Traffic alert system’ will keep roads from getting flocked leading to traffic halt. Locals can now send an SMS to number provided by the traffic police to get latest information over status on different roads.
Besides the alert system Peshawar police are reforming traffic flow. Tracking systems installed in traffic police officials’ vehicles help to better their monitoring by higher-ups. Rapid response squad has also been expanded.
The police have distributed pamphlets and booklets among thousands of locals in the last seven months for awareness regarding traffic laws.
Fines worth more than Rs 3 crore have been added to the national treasure by traffic’s law enforcers. Around 71 parking plazas have been issued final notices.
