College administration forces female student to commit suicide
Position-holder in Muslim Bagh forced to commit suicide as her registration form not sent by college
QILA SAIFULLAH: (Dunya News) – A female student in Muslim Bagh was forced to commit suicide by the college administration as the principal stopped the position-holder’s registration. The only mistake made by the innocent student, Saqiba, was that she had asked the college principal and the administration to appoint a female teacher for the female students, reported Dunya News.
Saqiba committed suicide on the last date of the submission of form since her registration form was not submitted. The protest against the principal cost the girl so dearly that first she was kept under mental pressure for six months and then her registration form for 2nd year exam was withheld by the college. Failing to withstand this brutal attack on her educational career, the female student took poisoned medicine and committed suicide.
The death of Saqiba has busted open the claims of Balochistan government about improvement in the education system. But the things didn’t end here. After Saqiba’s suicide, the FIR was not registered by the police upon the pressure from insensitive and influential political personalities.
Rejecting the investigation committee set up by the government, sisters and class fellows of the late female student demanded a judicial commission for the inquiry. Provincial ministers also came to sympathise with Saqiba’s parents and assured them of impartial investigation into the matter.
