The explosions caused fear and panic among residents.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Unknown miscreants tossed hand grenades outside a police station, girls’ college and a school within an hour in Karachi today (Friday), spreading fear and panic in the areas.

Uknown suspects on a motorcycle hurled a homemade grenade at the Mobina Town police station on Main Abul Hassan Isafahani Road, partially damaging a wall of the building and a car belonging to the Head Moharir of the police station, a police spokesman said.

The suspects escaped after the attack.

Reportedly, Constable Asif Ali Lashari suffered a minor injury and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

A CCTV footage obtained by Dunya News shows suspects fleeing from the scene in different directions after the attack.

Police are frequently targeted by militants and criminal gangs in the volatile city of around 20 million but overall levels of militant, criminal and sectarian-linked violence have decreased significantly since paramilitary forces began a sweeping crackdown in 2013.

Last year, more than 80 policemen were gunned down in different parts of the city.

Separately, two men on a motorcycle tossed a hand grenade near APWA Girls’ College in Karimabad area. No injury has been reported in the incident so far.

Panic spread through the college as students and staff ran out of the college with some seeking refuge in the streets on either side of the college.

A third grenade attack was reported near the main gate of a private school in North Nazimabad‘s L-Block area near Asghar Ali Shah stadium.

Reportedly, two children were injured in the incident who were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

Law enforcement personnel have arrived at the scene and launched investigation into the incidents.

Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah also took notice and ordered a report into the incidents.
