Karachi: Police arrest former SHO, private guard for extortion
Apprehended SHO has revealed that he extorted Rs. 6.850 million from a transporter.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police on Wednesday arrested former Station House Officer (SHO)Sub-Inspector Zafar Abbas and his private body guard Mansoor Shah for involvement in cases of extortion. The two suspects used to illegally place citizens under custody and demand extortion.
According to the details, police have registered a case of extortion and on sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act against the former SHO and his 3 other accomplices.
The apprehended SHO has revealed that he extorted Rs. 6.850 million from a transporter named Abdul Rahim from which he received a share of Rs. 1 million.
Police officials have stated that along with the former SHO another individual named Roshan Solangi was also involved in the crime. Officials stated that Solangi used to portray himself as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Police officials further informed that the suspects used to hold citizens in illegal custody in government quarters or a house in Suchul.
Police has assured that the remaining members of the game will also be arrested soon.
