All schools will open Tuesday as negotiations went successful with Punjab govt
LAHORE (Dunya News) – All private schools of Punjab have opened from Tuesday, February 2, as the negotiations between Punjab government and private school owners turn successful on Monday, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, it was decided during negotiations on Sunday to open schools on Monday which had been closed due to security reasons but the administrations of Beaconhouse, LGS, The City School, Lacas, Learning Alliance, Educators, Smart School, TNS, Salamat Schools, Newlands, Gymboree Play & Music and Lahore PreSchool did not accept the decision.
During the negotiations today (Monday), first demand was to let these schools raise fee structure for better security arrangements. But afterwards these schools accepted government’s stance. The President of All Pakistan Private Schools Federation has also confirmed the opening of schools.
After the successful negotiations between these schools and government, parents are also happy as the situation has been cleared out. From Tuesday, February 2 all private schools will start their educational activities in the province.
Earlier, Punjab government on Tuesday, January 26, had announced that all government and private school will remain closed from January 26 to 31. The decision by the provincial government came in light of the severe wave of cold that had gripped Punjab.
Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah on Thursday, January 28, accepted that there are security threats to schools and that the real reason behind closure of schools is extreme cold weather and not the threats but threats do exist.
