Lahore gang-rape case: Prime suspect lured girls into 'entertaining' govt officials

The court had granted three-day time to the victim to record her statement

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Revelations made by primary criminal in class-8 student’s gang rape, Adnan Sanaullah has taken the case’s heat to another level, Dunya News reported Friday.

Sanaullah has said that he used to lure young girls into ‘entertaining’ police and government officials in their private parties by offering them jobs in stage dramas.

The criminal said that he was appointed as theatre coordinator by a member of provincial assembly. Sanaullah had rented lavish bungalows in posh localities of the provincial capital to organize parties.

He is nominated in several cases which are registered at different police stations.

On the other hand, DNA report of the rape victim has also been compiled. Sanaullah’s DNA has matched with those of samples. The police have termed seven others nominated persons innocent.

In last days of December 2015, resident of Rana Town, 14-year-old girl was abducted and raped at a guest house on Mall Road.

Police had detained eight suspects after registration of a case at Race Course Police Station.

As the investigations proceeded, a picture of the prime suspect, Adnan Sanaullah surfaced which showed him sitting with Education Minister Rana Mashood.

The court had granted three-day time to the victim to record her statement after her counsel stated that she is traumatized by the incident.

During the hearing after three days, the court was told that the girl is still under treatment in a hospital and could not record her statement. Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif had assured of help in provision of medical facilities to the victim.
