MUZAFFARGARH (Dunya News) – Eight persons on Wednesday have been held by police for unethical dance performances in a local fair organised by Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) former member of provincial assembly (MPA) Mher Irshad Siyal.

District Police Officer (DPO) has said that eight participants have been apprehended after obscene performances were reported on November 24.

The arrested persons include four eunuchs and four members of magic show group. The DPO said that police were not approached for permission for the entertainment programme. The fair was held adjacent to a school, he added. However, the case involves trivial sections against the nominees.

On the other hand, former MPA dubbed the video that made rounds among locals a stunt pulled by his political opponents to damage his reputation.

Earlier on November 24, reports of obscene dance performances had surfaced. Performers were reported dancing nude in a local fair.

Dancers crossed all the limits in the fair that was supposed to provide healthy entertainment to the locals, for as many as three days.

Locals of all ages ranging from senior citizens to children were present in the event.

Police were appointed on security of former prime minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gilani. It should be mentioned here that Gilani also attended the event on the first day.
