District Nazim presented a non development budget of Rs 369.4 million rupees

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) -- District Government Peshawar’s first session was lost to an uproar by the participants. Opposition members tore copies of the budget and shouted slogans outside district council hall and protested there. Opposition members returned to hall after District Nazim requested them to do so, reported Dunya News.

The non-developmental budget meeting of Peshawar district government started under chairmanship of Syed Qasam Ali Shah when opposition members comprising of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Jamiat-e-Ulema Fazl (JUI-F) and Rah-e-Haq party began protesting even before the meeting started.

Opposition members said that they had not been taken into confidence in the preparation of budget. Members of government chanted ‘Go Nawaz Go’ in retaliation to opposition’s chant of ‘Go Khattak Go’.

During the protest, opposition members tore copies of the budget Opposition members returned to hall after District Nazim requested them to do so. Prayers were held for the martyred of Badabir. District Nazim presented a non development budget of Rs 369.4 million rupees out of which Rs 6 billion 980 million are to be used for salaries.
