Peshawar: Terrorists attack PAF camp in Badaber

QRF's Major Haseeb has been injured in the attack as he recieved a bullet in thigh

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Terrorists in early hours of Friday have attacked Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Badabar base camp however, troops defended the premises and gunned down as many as 13 militants.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asim Bajwa shared on a social website that terrorists had targeted the guard room of the camp.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has reached Peshawar to personally review the situation and visit Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to meet the injured. Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Sohail Aman has also left for the attack site.

According to details, 13 terrorists have been killed by the forces in the attack. While two army officers and eight soldiers are injured among 20 persons. Quick Reaction Force s (QRF) Major Haseeb is also injured as he recieved a bullet in thigh.

The PAF camp is being monitored aerially by three helicopters while clouds of smoke rose from surroundings of the camp.

The exchange of fire is over between the forces and the attackers. Civilian movement was restricted in the area as a heavy contingent of security forces arrived on site while further backup was requested.

Banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility of the attack. TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in an email that suicidal unit of the militant organisation carried out the attack.

Major General Asim Bajwa stated that a search operation in ongoing in the area.
