Lahore: Water enters streets, neighborhoods as bank of stream breaks
A nearby graveyard was also submerged in the water
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The bank of a stream near Shahdara broke causing water to flow into streets and neighborhoods on Tuesday. Citizens faced great distress due to the flooding, reported Dunya News.
The walls of a seasonal stream deriving from BRB canal weakened and a part collapsed due to pressure of water, causing water to flow into streets of Barkat Town. A nearby graveyard was also submerged in the water.
Locals have said that the due to negligence of department of administration of Anhar and Ravi, the towns has suffered. They said that Anhar’s administration department must have had knowledge of water the canal can hold before breaking yet they put people in trouble by releasing a large volume of water.
