Deadline to file nomination papers for 1st phase of LG polls in Punjab, Sindh expires today

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Deadline for filing of nomination papers for the first phase of local bodies elections in Sindh and Punjab is expiring today (Friday).

According to ECP schedule, scrutiny of nomination papers will begin from Saturday and will continue till 17th of this month.
Last date for filing of appeals against the acceptance or rejection of the nomination papers is September 22 while last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 1.

Revised list of candidates would be published on the second of next month and polling would be held on 31st of next month.

In the first phase, local government elections will be held in eleven districts of Punjab including Lodhran, Vehari, Okara, Pak Pattan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Bhakkar, Lahore, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujrat and Chakwal and Sindh districts including Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, Shikarpur, Qamber Shahdadkot, Jacobabad and Kashmore.
