Traders announce to march towards Islamabad in protest against withholding tax

Traders said that imposition of 0.3% withholding tax on bank transaction is unacceptable.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – All Pakisan Traders Union on Tuesday warned of marching towards Islamabad if the government did not withdraw withholding tax.

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club, Naeem Mir, the General Secretary of All Pakistan Traders Union, said that a protest has been scheduled on September 9 and if the government seemed unmoved, they will march towards Islamabad and stage sit-in outside the Federal Board of Revenue office.

Naeem Mir asserted that imposition of 0.3% withholding tax on bank transaction is unacceptable. He said the government is pressurising traders on the directives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
