Eight civilians were killed and more than 40 injured in Indian firing along Sialkot Working Boundary

SIALKOT (Dunya News) – Border residents in Kundanpur village of Sialkot have started moving to safer places a day after heavy Indian firing and shelling claimed more than eight lives and injured more than 40 Pakistanis.

On Friday, Indina Border Security Forces resorted to heavy firing and shelling in different villages including Kundanpur, Thathi Khurd, Thathi Kalan, Mahendarwal, Umranwali, Charwah, Jamal Jand, Dhamalan, Harpal, Anola, Harnawali, Chaprar, Dhol Malanay, Suhailpur, Salehpur and Nandpur along the Sialkot Working Boundary.



Eight civilians embraced shahadat and 47 were severely injured including 22 females.

Meanwhile, residents in Kundanpur village began moving to safer places. Schools and markets in the area were also shut at a limited level.



Earlier on Friday, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif said India has blatantly violated ceasfire along the Working Boundary and Line of Control.

COAS said India forces have crossed all limits to terrorise Pakistan civilian population disregarding the international conventions and norms.

“We can sense definite linkage between terrorism being sponsored by India in various parts of Pakistan and belligerence along Line of Control and Working Boundary,” he asserted.

General Raheel said Indian firing and violation targeting civilians is highly unprofessional, unethical, irresponsible and a cowardly act.



The Army Chief also visited CMH Sialkot to inquire about health of injured civilians and directed concerned to ensure best possible treatment.
