Pir Mahal operation: wounded Al-Qaeda terrorist captured alive
The terrorist had shot himself after killing wife and two children
PIR MAHAL (Dunya News) – A prominent Al-Qaeda operative was captured alive after shooting his wife, two children and self at a residential area in Pir Mahal.
According to details, at least one terrorist has been captured alive during the shootout. The terrorists were planning to target key installations.
The operation lasted three hours and left wife and two children dead whereas the Al-Qaida operative identified as Habib-ul-Rehman was captured alive as he tried to commit suicide.
The police officials said Rehman was residing in that house for the past three months along with his family. The police and other law enforcement institutions raided the house upon being tipped off.
The security officials made the announcement on loudspeaker after surrounding the house and told the terrorist to surrender.
Right after the announcement on the loudspeaker, the terrorist opened fire using modern weapon and even threw two grenades at the police which wounded three passers-by.
The firing continued for three hours and police backup was also summoned from Faisalabad. The wounded terrorist is being treated at a hospital amid tight security. The police have arrested the person who had rented the house to the terrorist.
The bomb disposal squad reached the scene after the operation and defused the bombs and suicide jackets.
