Fazlur Rehman summons meeting of legal experts to discuss issue of MQM resignations
The meeting will take place at the JUI-F chief's residence in Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maualan Fazlur Rehman has summoned a meeting of the legal experts at his residence in Islamabad on Saturday to discuss issue of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) parliamentarians’ resignations.
A team of constitutional experts including former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association Kamran Murtaza and Advocate Abdul Rasheed will attend the meeting.
According to sources, they have been provided copies of the court verdicts regarding parliamentarians’ resignations. A copy of the Islamabad High Court’s decision on Barrister Zaffar Ali Shah’s petition on the issue of PTI resignations has also been included as a reference.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman will finalise his decision to play role of a mediator between the government and MQM only after consultation with his legal experts.
