Nation celebrates 69th Independence Day
Nation is celebrating the 69th Independence Day with zeal, enthusiasm today (Friday).
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The nation is celebrating the 69th Independence Day today (Friday) with great splendor, joy, respect and re-dedication towards nation-building in accordance with the vision of the founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The day will dawn with thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salute in the provincial capitals. Special prayers will be offered for the prosperity‚ integrity and solidarity of the country‚ unity of the Muslim Ummah and for the success of the long drawn struggle of the Kashmiris after Fajr prayers.
It will be a public holiday throughout the country. The main event of the day will be a flag hoisting ceremony at Convention Center in Islamabad. Flag hoisting ceremonies would also be held at the provincial capitals and district headquarters besides other important national institutions.
Overseas Pakistanis and Pakistani missions abroad will also celebrate Independence Day in their respective countries and will organize different functions in this regard.
