JI head said that the commission didn't suggest penalty for those responsible for irregularities

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) head Sirajul Haq has on Sunday told the government to take measures to control the floods instead of celebrating the judicial commission’s report. He resented that the commission didn’t suggest penalty for those responsible for the irregularities, reported Dunya News.

Talking to the media at a seminar held at Mansoora in the memory of former JI head Mian Tufail Muhammad, Sirajul Haq said that irregularities were proved in the judicial commission’s report. He demanded an All Parties Conference (APC) for avoiding such incidents in future. He said that the provincial and federal governments should be allowed to complete their tenures. “We don’t want some other power to do government’s accountability”, he added.

JI head said that the demand by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) to cancel the membership of the MNAs who remained absent from the assemblies wasn’t correct. He said that such a decision would increase the political tensions.

Commenting on the JI MPA’s disqualification in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) over fake degree, Sirajul Haq said that action should be taken against him in accordance with the law.

Various intellectuals and columnists addressed the seminar along with JI officials and paid tribute to the national services rendered by Mian Tufail.
