Journalists protest against anti-media resolution

Rejecting the offer of talks with the government, media organizations of Lahore staged protest against the anti-media resolution presented in the Punjab Assembly. Journalists of Islamabad also protested against the resolution. A meeting of different media organizations held in Lahore Press Club in which it was decided that the protest will be continued till the removal of the resolution. After the meeting, a large number of journalists staged demonstration in front of the Punjab Assembly. In the meanwhile, CM Punjab adviser Zulfiqar Khosa and Rana Sanaullah reached there. The media men were of the view that media and civil society played major role in restoration of democracy and sovereignty of the Parliament but the same parliamentarians are using the floor of the House against media. They said that they will defend the freedom of media at any cost. On the occasion, PML-Q activists also joined the protest to show solidarity with the journalists. They shouted slogans against Punjab government and demanded that the resolution against media should be reversed.
