Doctors, paramedical staff went on strike in OPD, Emergency leaving patients on their own
PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Doctors and paramedical staff of Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, went on strike in OPD and Emergency as a protest against violence by relatives of a patient that died. All the staff went on strike, leaving the patients on their own, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, relatives of a patient that had died on Thursday in the hospital had thrashed the staff members, upon which the staff not only closed the OPD but also the emergency services. They also protested inside the hospital’s premises.
Patients had to suffer due to this strike by the doctors and the paramedical staff. “What kind of ‘change’ is this? Doctors go on strike every few days. Where do we go?” questioned a patient.
Despite the problems faced by the patients in the hospital, Lady Reading Hospital staff announced to continue protest till the arrest of the suspects.
