250 perish as heat rises in Karachi

Shortage of stretchers has been reported in said hospitals
KARACHI (Dunya News) – 250 persons perished due to rise in heat waves across the metropolitan city. More than 80% of the casualties have been caused by heat strokes, reported Dunya News on Monday.
Most of the casualties were brought to Jinnah Hospital while a large number of persons were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Civil Hospital, Lyari General Hospital and Sindh Governement New Hospital.
Shortage of stretchers has been reported in said hospitals death toll rose.
People who fell victim to the heat included a large number of persons aged 60 and above which includes women as well.
On the other hand, relatives of the patients in cancer ward of Jinnah Hospital are protesting against load shedding.
The families of the patients complained against the lack of electricity adding that the summer heat is unbearable.
