The Rangers personnel are maintaining security of the LHC on the fourth day into the strike

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – Station House Officers (SHOs) on Friday have returned to their offices and started conducting official affairs after Gujranwala Capital Police Officer (CPO) assured them of meeting their demands.

The security of the Lahore High Court (LHC) is still under the supervision of the Rangers. The investigation officers entered the premises of the court in civil attires fearing the lawyers.

Earlier, at least 27 SHOs of Sialkot had refused to perform duties after District Police Officer (DPO) was transferred as result of the Daska clash between police and lawyers that claimed lives of two lawyers including tehsil bar president.

The demands put forth by the SHOs included the cancellation of transfer order of former DPO Sialkot. Another demand was justice in the light of the law with Shahzad Warraich.

RPO Gujranwala discussed the matter with Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over phone upon which the minister ensured that he would chair a high level meeting today to resolve the issue.

However, the SHOs have returned to work after assurance of meeting demands by the CPO. But the records of the cases registered are not being filed in the court. The Rangers personnel are maintaining security of the LHC on the fourth day into the strike called by the Punjab Bar Association.
