Punjab govt withdraws request for judicial inquiry of Daska incident
Govt has withdrawn the request in view of the JIT formed to investigate the incident
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Punjab government has on Tuesday withdrawn the request it had filed for a judicial inquiry of the Daska incident. Government has withdrawn the request in view of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formation for the investigation of the incident, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, Punjab government had written a letter to Chief Justice Lahore High Court to hold a judicial inquiry of the tragic incident that took place on Monday in Daska under Punjab Tribunal of Inquiry Ordinance 1969 so that action could be taken against the suspects.
However, a case has been registered against the suspects in Daska City Police Station while a JIT has also been formed that comprises of the representatives of the law enforcing agencies. In view of these developments, Punjab government has withdrawn the request to form judicial inquiry.
