Daska: Rangers, police alert to counter unfortunate incident

The intermediate exam has been postponed

DASKA (Dunya News) – Rangers contingents on Tuesday are alert in the Nawaz Sharif Stadium to avoid any unfortunate incident while additional contingents of police have also been called in context of the unrest in the city after police and lawyers clashed on May 25.

The funeral prayer of the slain bar president Rana Khalid Abbas has been offered.

The government and private schools are closed while shutter down is being observed in markets.

All kinds of business centres, petrol stations, compressed natural gas (CNG) stations and restaurants are closed moreover, the fruit stalls along the road banks are nowhere in sight.

The intermediate exam has also been postponed. Additional contingents of police have been called from Gujranwala, Sambrial, Sialkot and Gujrat.

Earlier, the police opened fire on protesting lawyers which claimed the lives of two including Daska bar president Rana Khalid Abbas. The enraged protesters had set the Tehsil Municipality Authority (TMA) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) offices and the house of assistant commissioner on fire.
