ANP files petition before ECP against keeping women out of Dir poll
CECP issued notices to Chief Secretary KP and Returning Officer, taking notice of the petition
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Awami National Party (ANP) has on Friday filed a petition before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against barring the women from voting in PK-95 by-election in Lower Dir. Taking notice of the issue, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) issued notices to the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) and the Returning Officer, reported Dunya News.
The petition was filed by ANP leader Bushara Gohar in the ECP in which she requested the ECP to annul the election. Taking notice of the ANP application and the reports in media, CEC directed Chief Secretary KP and Returning Officer to respond to the issue in writing.
