Saad Rafique is free to run again in a by-election in the constituency in the city of Lahore.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – The ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to fight political and legal battle after its senior member Khawaja Saad Rafique was stripped of parliament seat by the election tribunal over massive irregularities in NA-125 polls in 2013 general elections, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, Khawaja Saad Rafique has completed consultation with party leadership on the matter. The PML-N has decided to field Rafique as its candidate for NA-125 by-election and at the same time it will challenge the election tribunal’s decision in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP).

On Monday, Railways Minister Saad Rafique denied the accusations of rigging, saying election staff was responsible for irregularities.

According to the tribunal, the PML-N leader is free to run again in a by-election in the constituency in the city of Lahore. A new vote must be held in 60 days.
