Hakimullah Mehsud clean-bowled us, not Imran Khan: Asfand Yar Wali
Yemen war is not our war, we should make a national policy for this issue, says ANP leader
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Chairman Awami National Party (ANP) Asfand Yar Wali Khan has on Thursday said that ANP wasn’t “clean-bowled” by Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan in the general elections, but by Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP) chief Hakimullah Mehsud in General Election 2013. He said that Yemen war wasn’t Pakistan’s war and a national policy must be made to deal with this situation, Dunya News reported.
In a press conference at Mardan House, Karachi, ANP chief said that guarding the holy places in Saudi Arabia was everyone’s duty but Yemen war had nothing to do with Pakistan. “We are already paying for joining one alien war. Therefore, a national policy should be made with the consultation of all political parties instead of a decision made by one man”, he said.
Criticizing the local body elections policy in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP), Asfand Yar Wali Khan said that PTI wanted a strange sort of local body election in KP. He said that while everyone else was running election campaign in 2013, ANP leaders were busy in funerals of party workers.
Expressing satisfaction over Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Asfand said that he wasn’t satisfied with the rehabilitation process of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).
ANP leader said that Saulta Mirza’s statements held no legal value but the severity of the allegations demands that a fair investigation into this matter should be made. He said that the fair investigation of Mirza’s allegations was necessary for Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) own good. He said that the ANP would never support pushing any political party to the wall.
