Pakistan should not interfere in Yemen war: Asfandyar Wali
He also expressed doubts over local government amendment bill
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) -- Leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali said on Tuesday that Pakistan has not rid itself of the effects of Afghanistan war and should not mire itself in an external war, reported Dunya News.
Talking to the media after provincial party workers conference at Bilour House, party leader Asfandyar Wali said that Saulat Mirza’s statement carries no legal weight in court.
Asfandyar Wali said that Saulat Mirza had not recorded his testimony in front of a judge and a Judicial Investigation Team (JIT) should be formed to investigate the claims made by him.
He said that Imran Khan’s telephonic tapping had revealed the true intent behind his sit-ins.
The ANP leader said that empty chits had been found in ballot boxes during Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senate elections. He criticized local body elections, saying that would carry the same transparency as the Senate elections.
The president of ANP implored government to hold local body elections on party-basis, adding that the Lahore High Court had ordered holding of elections in cantonments on party-basis.
He expressed doubts over local government amendment bill, adding that the bill allowed the dismissal of a Nazim by the incumbent Chief Minister.
