Decision on raising petroleum products to be taken today
Suggestions have been made to raise the price of petroleum products up to 7.5 rupees per liter
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Decision regarding petroleum prices for the month of April will be taken on Tuesday. In case of reduction in General Sales Tax (GST), the prices of petroleum products will remain same, reported Dunya News.
Due to deteriorating law and order situation in Yemen and rise of oil prices in the global market, suggestions have been made to raise the price of petroleum products up to 7.5 rupees per liter.
According to a summary sent by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to Ministry of Finance, recommendation has been given to increase prices in petrol by 4 rupees 40 paisas, high speed diesel by 6 rupees 25 paisas, light diesel by 2 rupees 56 paisas and kerosene by 1 rupees 56 paisas.
According to sources, if a decrease in GST is approved by Finance Ministry, the prices of petroleum products could remain same.
