The Federations counsel submitted a comprehensive written reply in the Supreme Court regarding the NRO implementation case on Monday. Talking to media outside the Supreme Court, government counsel Barrister Kamal Azfar said that the court could not convict a person twice for the same offence, and added that the reopening of the Swiss cases was a mistake on part of the apex court .He said communication with the Swiss government would serve no purpose, and added that Pakistani laws are limited to the country only. He asserted that the chapter of NRO has been closed, while the privileges given to the beneficiaries could not be reversed, nor any action against them could be justified. The reply further stated that conviction in absentia had no place in Pakistans criminal law.
