Politicians, journalists condemn attack on Dunya News reporter
Several journalists including PFUJ have called a countrywide protest in condemnation of the attack.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Rabita Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), politicians and journalist fraternity on Thursday condemned the attack on Dunya News reporter Munawwar Allam.
MQM termed the attempt as a cowardly act and urged the government to arrest the culprits immediately.
Many journalists including Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) have called a countrywide protest in condemnation of the attack on Munawwar Allam. President PFUJ Rana Azeem criticized government for its failure to protect journalists.
President Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) and other officials also denounced the firing attack.
Earlier, Allam was on his way back to his home from work on Wednesday night when he got accosted by two unidentified persons at Gulistan Johar area in Karachi. The miscreants opened fire; he, however, remained safe.
