Record reveals Haris's absence from university on Feb 16: Police

Haris Javed has attempted to change his statement three times puzzling the police.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – New revelations have been surfaced in the case of a private university s student, who was set on fire, as police received the CCTV footage and university record showing him absent from the university, Dunya News reported on Saturday.

According to the university record, the victim Haris was absent from the university on February 16 whereas the CCTV footage also failed to mark his presence in the premises of the school.

Meanwhile, police officers assured to have made sketches of the wanted suspects however, Haris Javed has attempted to change his statement three times puzzling the police.

Earlier, a student of a private university, Haris, on Friday was burned after being abducted in Karachi.

According to the details, Harris, was abducted on January 16 when he was on his way to his university. He was tortured for four consecutive days; the abductors then doused him in petrol and set him ablaze and absconded.

Youth cried for help and was immediately taken to the hospital by the locals of the area in critical condition whereas the police informed that 30 to 40 percent of Harris’s body has been burned.

The case, under the provisions of burning and attempted murder, has been registered at Baloch Colony police station whereas the police affirmed that victim, haris, has also recorded his preliminary statement.

According to the statement, Haris was abducted by three to four unidentified persons from outside Iqra University in a red double-cabin car and subjected him to torture until yesterday, when they doused him in petrol and set him on fire. He further told that the abductors were speaking Pashto.

Father of the victim stated that Harris bore no animosity with anyone.

Case of Haris’s abduction had previously been registered at Mehmoodabad police station.
